Brushed Aluminum in Photoshop

1. Create a new document File -> New (in this example I’ve used 320×240)
2. Chose a foreground color (grey)

3. Fill the background Alt+Backspace
4. Apply a noise Filter -> Noise -> Add Noise

5. Apply noise filter twice
6. Apply motion blur Filter -> Blur ->Motion Blur

7. Image -> Adjustments -> Levels (to make it darker and to give more contrast)

8. With rectangular marque tool select an area for a highlight effect

9. Apply feather to selection to make it smooth Select -> Modify -> Feather (25px).

Use Image -> Adjustments -> Brightness/Contrast and than deselect (Mac+d or Ctrl+d for Windows)
